Ezra Pound rewrote the poem for Eliot. Pound and Eliot were both racists and fascist sympathizers, but they were excellent poets. Art-making and virtue do not go hand-in-hand.

I wouldn't say Pound re-wrote it, but he certainly edited it very heavily, recommending mass deletions and rephrasings.

No matter how much I appreciate The Wasteland I can't get rid of that nagging voice that interrupts me from time to time with, "You know - he hated the Irish and thought they were knuckle dragging monkies." Appreciation interruptus, I suppose.

The greatest poem in the English language. I hope they don't ruin it, not that I care. I can't afford an iPad anyway, and I wouldn't buy one if I could.

The Wasteland has so many textures and references in it, it will be interesting to see what they do with it. Some sort of interactive, linked structure I suppose.
