Moving Video Explains Why Protesters Plan To Take To The Streets

Inspired by uprisings in nearby Tunisia and Egypt, Morrocans have planned their own protests for February 20, Reuters reports. According to the CIA World Factbook, Morocco is technically a constitutional monarchy headed by King Mohammed, who took the throne in 1999. There is also an elected Parliament; however, opposition groups say that the monarchy has much of the control. According to Reuters:

But critics say its constitution gives the monarchy wide prerogatives from the dissolution of parliament and the imposition of the state of emergency to a say on appointments of key government portfolios including the prime minister.
