Royal Antelope Baby Born At San Diego Zoo (VIDEO)

WATCH: Tiny Baby Antelope Born

It's a baby-sized baby! This Royal Antelope, born at the San Diego Zoo last month, is so small it needs a custom-made baby bottle. According to the Today Show, staff members are caring for the baby until it is strong enough to join the rest of its herd.

Royal Antelope are the smallest of their species, measuring less than a foot tall, and weighing under 10 pounds when fully grown. The animal, native to West Africa, is considered timid and secretive.

While the Royal Antelope can be found in various protected areas, many of these regions do not protect against poaching or logging. Thus, according to the IUCN Red List, these tiny antelope will become increasingly dependent on park protection in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana.
