Steve Jobs Cancer

Radar Online claims to have spotted Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who is currently on medical leave from the company, outside the Stanford Cancer Center in Palo Alto.

Radar writes,

RadarOnline.com has confirmed Jobs, 55, has been attending the Stanford Cancer Center in Palo Alto, California, where Swayze sought radical chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer before his death in September, 2009.

In 2004, Jobs was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor, a form of pancreatic cancer. He received a liver transplant in 2009, and in January 2011, announced he would be taking a medical leave of absence, though he would remain CEO of Apple.

There has been rampant speculation regarding the health of the CEO.

Though Radar reports Jobs was seen leaving the Stanford Cancer Center, the CEO has also been spotted on the Apple campus. Steve Jobs is also set to meet with Obama, along with Eric Schmidt, Mark Zuckerberg, and other tech titans, to discuss job creation.

Look People.... People live and people die. That's the cycle of life. This man under the best of all cercumstances has a death date like we all do. Are you gonna stop supporting a brand of computers just because he dies?

Just how dumb would that be?.... Very!

I just want to wish Steve Jobs all the luck and a quick come back, he has created amazing gadgets that one can't live without it.
I am not afraid for apple if he never come back again, Henry Ford died also and Ford still sells cars, or who knows BMW CEO by name ? Does it really matter ? Steve is a visionaire and he has layed out a lot solutions for the future after he is long gone..... buy apple it is a great product.

I really wish HuffPo would not further spread these unsubstantiated rumors. The Radar report is based on a National Enquirer article (yeah, they're reliable) and the photo could have been from previous treatment. As others have noted, he was with Obama 2 days ago. Yes, the White House authorized photo shows him from the back. Yes, his health problems are serious. But come on, let's not succumb to the "6 weeks to live" tabloid rumor mill on this site. I sincerely wish him the privacy he's requested.

That's strange because he was having lunch with Obama and others from the tech field today on the food page. Why it was on the food page is beyond me. Business or politics yes but food?????

If he has a Neuroendocrine Cancer, it is a very rare slow non-aggressive cancer diagnosed to only 2,500 people annually, or just 5% of all Pancreatic Cancers. Neuroendocrine Cancer should not be confused with typical pancreatic cancers that can be very aggressive. A side effect of Neuroendocrine Pancreatic Tumor can be weight loss from an over production of certain hormones. If detected at an early stage, a tumor may be detected and removed. There is no known cure, but treatments are used to shrink the tumor, slow down the tumor growth and control the cancer. Ongoing research and clinical trials have resulted in more effective treatments, while looking for a cure.

Thanks for the info on Jobs. I didn't know that about pancreatic cancer. As I said he was at the luncheon today at the WH and he was sitting next to Obama.

I stood next to Steve at an even in October. He was quite thin, but, seemed active and in good spirits. He's a genius who redefined "consumer electronics" and I sincerely hope he returns to apple in better health.

Cancer is hardly the death sentence it once was - I speak as a cancer survivor. Treatments are light years from what they were 20 or even 10 years ago. Even if he has cancer he may go through chemo or radiation treatment, go bald, get his hair back (sometimes in a different color) and go on with his life.

I'm sorry to hear this. I would be very sad to see Steve go--- though few people can claim to have transformed the world so fundamentally in their lifetime. Thanks for inventing the personal computer, Steve! That was huge.
01:57 PM on 02/17/2011
Jobs just copied what others were doing. He didn't invent anything. Woz was the tech guy and Jobs was the sales guy. At the time there were dozens of folks assembling the latest tech into "personal computers" including Tandy and Commodore.
03:27 PM on 02/17/2011
That's just not correct. Jobs and Woz worked together to develop the Apple 1, which is generally considered the first personal computer. Others were kits, some programmed using switches. Apple 1 was mostly fully assembled, used a keyboard. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_I
