Royal Wedding Invitations Hit The Mail, Prince Harry's Speech Debated (VIDEO)

Miss any Royal Wedding news lately? CBS News has you covered. Along with rehashing a bunch of stuff we already know -- Chelsy Davy might be at the nuptials, Prince William and Kate's first trip as a married couple will be to Canada this summer -- the reporters dropped a little bit of knowledge on us re: the invitations.

About 1,800 invites are set to be mailed, but the real question is what's inside the envelopes. Apparently, the jackpot is three separate cards -- for the Abbey, the Queen's reception and Prince Charles' fete.

The CBS team also debates what Prince Harry's speech as best man will be like. We can only imagine.

It's been sooo long since I've thought of wedding invitations. Are we commoners still sending out invitations in an ink color which matches the bridesmaids' dresses, with all those horrid flowers on the side? Are the invites still starting out "today is the day I will marry my best friend, blah, blah, blah....."

wolfiegirl, and within a few years the best friend and great love of one's life turns out to be the enemy and/or betrayer and it's divorce ville. I would never, ever get married again. It's like playing russian roulette. I know tiny few people today who have not been divorced and on 2nd and third marriages. I do think this royal marriage will be a happy one though. William saw what happened to his parent's marriage and learned I hope. Though what does he base a happy marriage on?

I don't know where he learned about good relationships, frankly. They seem to have as good a chance as anyone. It seems to their down to earth unassuming nature, as a couple.

Unfortunately yes. One worries if it's proper etiquette/tacky to put registry info on the invites, with the invites, or spread by word of mouth. And now they have "Save the Dates" which are pre-invites. And one goes thru the same rigmarole with them as the invies. It's insane.
