British Poker Champ Arrives In Colorado For Murder Trial

Professional poker player Marcus Bebb-Jones has been extradited from England, and is awaiting his murder trial for the 1997 death of his wife.

Jones, a successful professional poker player who won the Grosvenor Grand Prix tournament in 2001, used to own the Melrose Hotel in Grand Junction with his wife, Sabrina Bebb-Jones.

In 1997, Sabrina went missing. 7 years later, a rancher found her skull on Douglas Pass in Garfield County.

By this time, Marcus Bebb-Jones had returned to his native England to join the British poker circuit.

In November, 2009, Scotland Yard Agents arrested Bebb-Jones following a 12-month investigation by local Colorado law enforcement and British authorities.

In April, 2010, a Judge approved Bebb-Jones's extradition to Colorado, despite Bebbs-Jones's lawyers' concerns that their client could face the death penalty.

Bebb-Jones's appeal of the extradition was thrown out in January, 2011

On Sunday, Bebb-Jones landed in a Garfield County detention center. He faces felony charges of first-degree murder, concealing death and domestic violence.
