He can't even write(I mean steal) a song without lying about. I doubt he has any real control over her. Disney is her handler and the very second it's adventageous to them to turn her into a sex-kitten diva she'll be wearing a tube top and a thong. Miley, like Hannah is a fabricated creation designed to sell promise rings and CD's until it's time to sell sex.

Miley Cyrus has no "Disney handlers." In 2009 her management--at her request--negotiated to cut the rest of her obligations to the Disney Channel in half, and that's the reason that in the first half of 2010, she was only required to film a half season--the last season--of her show with Disney. It was obvious from 2009 on that Miley, in effect, was firing Disney as her employer. So, since filming of the last season of Hannah Montana finished in May 2010, Miley has no longer been an employee of the Disney Channel. By contract, it's probably the case that she--and her father--are required not to trash Disney in public, but other than that, she has no obligations to Disney. It looks like her father may have violated his contract with Disney by trashing them in public, but Miley has never done that.

Better late than never, I guess... although, locking the barn after the horse has been stolen, seems futile.
But where were you when your daughter needed parental guidance... you shirked your responsibility to be her dad, choosing to be her best pal, or whatever your role was...
We've seen so many of these pitiful young stars whose career path has detoured. So too bad when perhaps it could be prevented with appropriate interventions...
but in order to do that, the dad has to be more concerned about his daughter, and less concerned about her stardom.
What you need to figure out now, Billy Ray, is just how does one get the Genie back inside the bottle?
Perhaps the only one you can salvage out of all this is YOU!! Very sad...

She had a body guard with her everywhere she went for her entire teenagehood up to the moment she reached 18--and that body guard reported back to her parents about everything she did. I think her aim is to eliminate the spies from her life and regain some of the privacy she was forced to give up in return for being a child star. Now that she's an adult, she no longer needs to put up with her father interfering in her life or controlling her. All the uninformed idiots on message boards claim that her father was not involved in her life. The truth is that he was a bumbling interfering father who refused to give up control over her, and that's what has lead to their being estranged from one another.

That doesn't make much sense once you look at the facts: Billy Ray has had 8 top-10 hits on the charts, 15 top-40 hits, sold more than 30 million albums, appeared in numerous movies, starred in his own four-year-long TV show, starred in his daughter's four-season-long show, had several national and world-wide tours, hosted NBC's Nashville Star for a season, hosted several successful documentary series, featured on one season of Dancing with the Stars and had several successful albums out in the last five years. You are allowed an opinion, even if you are uninformed about your topic, but there's no guarantee you are not going to come off looking bad as a result.

you can like him. that's ok with me. i don't believe that thinking poorly of Billy Ray and his choices will make me "come off looking bad." to just about anyone but you.
