Halle looks stunning (as usual), above and beyond all the others.

Isaiah Mustafa and Kristin Davis also look great. Others = meh.

Why is Isaiah Mustaffa wearing clothes? What a waste!

Demi looks bonier than usual. Ginnifer Goodwin's dress is not flattering or attractive and she didn't look too happy to be there!

Best Dressed - Beau Garrett

Worst Dressed - Ginnifer Goodwin, please stop dressing like a 10 year old boy wearing a cocktail dress, dear.

Does anyone clean up better than Halle Berry?

nope.

I must say that I'm quite disappointed that Alice in Wonderland won out over The Tempest for Excellence in Fantasy Film. Being a MASSIVE Burton/Depp AND Alice in Wonderland fan, I never thought I would say that I wish one of their films HADN'T won an award (esp. this one). But being a costumer, I was so impressed with what Sandy Powell did with her incredibly limited budget (200k is not a lot of money to costume a feature length film...especially when it's Shakespeare). Don't get me wrong, I think the costumes in Alice look pretty fabulous, but would you expect less from a big-budget, mainstream film that probably had an insane budget for their costumer? Plus, let's be honest, while the Alice costumes definitely had a dash of originality to them (they had to look Burtonesque), they were still highly based on age-old ideas of what these characters clothes are expected to look like (from other film adaptations, the Disney cartoon and numerous illustrated books). Powell based her costumes on typical Elizabethan silhouettes, yes, but the way she put them together and the materials she used, I thought, were very clever and unique.

And that's my 2 cents :)

What happened to "high fashion"? As an old man, I'm tired of seeing "jacked up tits" on women who pose like strippas or night workers. Wish they'd bring back the Audrey Hepburn and clean lines which were so admired. Is it me or am I just naieve(sp)?
12:22 PM on 02/23/2011
Well I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not seeing a lot of "jacked up tits" and "stripper poses" in these slides (a few shorter dresses maybe). MOST of these women are very tastefully dressed. I mean look at Diane Lane: she looks quite stunning in her 1920s inspired sheath dress...throwing it back to an era of fashion even before Hepburn's time.

But I will agree with you that a lot of fashion that you see today (esp. worn by tarts like Paris Hilton and Megan Fox) is just absurd and tacky. I do wish we could go back to Audrey Hepburn, Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall and Grace Kelly. Personally I'm a fan of 1940s silhouettes, and wish that women still had a little tact when dressing themselves nowadays. Sexy, but still class and sophisticated...without slutting it up, and showing a bit of self respect.

I agree. Halle looks great as usual, but Diane looks very cool and classic.
