At age 77, Keller has competed in nearly 850 racing events, from neighborhood runs here in Florida's state capital to world championship duathlons and triathlons in Scotland, Hawaii, Germany and Australia.

The amazing part is Keller didn't get serious about running and racing until he turned 50.

It's pretty impressive, and people like this man help redefine for the rest of us what it means to get "old".

What would we expect a 77 yr old man to do? Be wearing polyester pants and sitting in his living room chair watching TV most of the weekend? Playing with the grandkids if he could because it's a little physically taxing? This guy's out running races people half his age could not do, and he should be inspiration to all - that your age alone should not define you, that you can keep living and be vital no matter how old you are.

I remember years ago a track meet for folks his age and up. I wasn't there, but I heard the announcer. There was a guy in his 80's who was competing. He didn't win, but he got the loudest applause I heard that day.

Good luck to him - but I wouldn't actually WANT to do any of those things, so there'd be no competition even if I were that fit, lol.
