Los Angeles Pre-Oscar Parties, Luncheons, and Events

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 02/25/11 02:14 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:35 PM ET

Thursday saw Los Angeles come alive with parties and events all over town celebrating Hollywood and its stars just days before the Oscars. The Hollywood Reporter hosted its Nominees' Night party at The Getty House, welcoming guests like Amy Adams, Heather Graham, Bill Maher and Hailee Steinfield. Vanity Fair continued its Campaign Hollywood 2011 with Richard Mille toasting Fox Searchlight Films alongside actresses Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman at Bar Marmont. The pre-Oscar parties continued with Leeza Gibbons' Dare2Care cocktail party, the annual Hollywood Domino Party--whose guestlist included Ali Larter the Hilton sisters--and a private dinner hosted by Forevermark honoring Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams.

Elsewhere around town, more festivities took place celebrating the achievements of those in entertainment. Essence held its 4th annual "Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon" at the Beverly Hills Hotel, honoring attendees like Jennifer Hudson and Angela Bassett for their contributions in Hollywood. At the Ebell Club, Irish entertainers converged to celebrate the 6th annual "Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish In Film" party. Rounding out the glitzy night were star-studded events like Ed Ruscha's opening of Psycho Spaghetti Westerns (the guest list included Drew Barrymore and John Waters), and the premiere of Beastly, where stars like Neil Patrick Harris and Vanessa Hudgens hit the red carpet.

LA is never quite as bustling and busy as it is during awards season, so check out the styles and smiles that popped up around town last night in the slideshow below.

Heard the parties were fun. Hope the show itself is too.
