Tracy McGrady Laughs At John Kuester: Pistons Coach Ejected From Sixers Game (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/26/11 01:17 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:35 PM ET

The Detroit News reported on Friday that a handful of Pistons players, including Tracy McGrady, skipped practice to protest against coach John Kuester. As punishment, Kuester didn't start any of the players who were not at practice. However, in the second quarter of Friday night's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Kuester got himself ejected by arguing with the officials. While sitting on the bench, T-Mac couldn't stop laughing at his coach as he walked off the court. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the coach should be on his way out of Detroit soon. Scroll down to watch the video.

The same people who say they cant stand the NBA are the same ones who brown noses there bosses at work. And for people to say T-MAC is washed up must dont watch bball or have short term memory. Maybe he's washed up because he carried Orlando on his back literally it seems, they ran that man's body into the ground. When he was in his prime you cant name one sidekick he had on his team let alone role players. For everyone to sit her and judge this situation is lame, you dont know what goes on behind closed doors but are quick to say its tha athletes fault. How many times have you heard of the whole starting line up not showing up to anything? Think about it wasnt just one or two players, maybe just maybe it is the coach.

NBA and bosses at work..that's a stretch, but ok. TMac being washed up, not a stretch. The guy is ranked 124 in minutes played, that’s nothing for a superstar. TMac was all that and a bag of chips, but he was soft and lazy. He always thought he did not have to work at his craft, because it was too easy. Look at him now, barely a starter and you don't want people to feel as if he is washed up and he makes millions in the process. I don’t think so!

As far as the coach goes, he needs to go..ASAP. Don’t pack, just leave.

This would disappear if the NBA could only draft college graduates. But that's fantasy, I freely admit.

Bill Sharman was the coach of the Lakers. Here's a quote from an article about Wilt Chamberlain and his message to the coach:

"Wilt kept unusual hours, often couldn't get to sleep until sun-up. When Bill Sharman was coaching the Lakers he instituted the morning shootaround, now an accepted part of NBA life. Chamberlain balked. "I'm coming to the arena once on any given day," he said. "Have Bill tell me which one he wants me to attend -- the shootaround or the game."

Why are people so up in arms over this incident? It's not even a blip on the radar of player actions against a coach. Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Jason Kidd, and Magic Johnson have all had coaches fired--in the case of Kobe he forced Dr. Buss not to resign Phil Jackson, the greatest coach in the history of the NBA.

This is not high school or college basketball where the coach is god. This is the professional level and believe it or NOT, players have just as much knowledge as the coach. The ownership sinks tens of millions of dollars into the players and not the coaches. If there is friction between the players and the coach, the coach has to go. It simple business. The only franchise that does not understand this business model is the Golden State Warriors. Apparently, there are several fans who don't understand as well.

For all of you people out there talking about, "The coach is the boss, you have to be professional, if I did the same thing I would be fired, there's no respect for the game anymore," etc, let's understand what is taking place. The head coach is not the boss!!! He is a manager. Mangers don't have the ability to hire and fire players. They organize the staff and maximize productivity. When the staff hates the manager, it's time for a new manager.

Joe Dumars is the GM of the Pistons & really is to blame. Rip Hamilton didn't respect the coach and management didnt have a tlak with him to let him know that "Kuester is our guy" The Pistons management is getting ready to sale the team and want lottery picks. So Kuester is the fall guy. Management should havve never let it get to this point. Of course the players are classless and showing the bad side of over paid under achievers. McGrady? I didnt even know he was still alive : ) T-Mac should be laughing that at one point some fools in the NBA had the nerve to compare him to Kobe Bryant.

It's not bad to have a sense of humor about things. If laughing at something silly like a coach being ejected is frowned upon, then we're missing the point of having sports.

I disagree. He got ejected from a game. The tension between this coach and these players is good.

A coach has to be demanding and feed the team with angry leadership, which entails bruised egos and hurt feelings, actually.

Any coach who doesn't do this is more like a priest than a coach. The problem with the Pistons bodes well for Detroit. It's the kind of ripened stagnation from which brilliance can be derived. Detroit has a lot of this.

Did it occur to you that the man may have started losing this job before tonight, when he lost the respect of his own men?

I can hardly stand to watch anything affiliated with the NBA these days. The fundamentals are so bad, and there isn't an abundance of what can be called 'class' coming forth from those who ply their trade there.

And to think that Tracy McGrady wanted to come to the Bulls...man he would have been gone in a week (although Tracy On the bench is still an upgrade over Keith Bogans, but that's another story).

1. Sign Chauncey Billups to an extension.
2. Trade for Allen Iverson, which was a huge fail.
3. Overpaying CV and Ben Gordon instead of waiting for the 2010 FA class.
4. Hiring John Keuster who's the coach responsible for Cleveland Cavaliers' offense, which is actually saying a lot because, well, the team runs its offense through some guy called Lebron James. What does that mean? Keuster may not be as good as Dumars thinks he is.
5. This.

Dumars needs to fired. I know he brought some success to Detroit but not after this BS.

It's a shame that Teshaun Price and Rick Hamilton cannot be the gentlemen they once were, when they won the championship. McGrady is a bust and to think he won the scoring title twice. Ben Wallace should've become their leader, but regrettably, he has the same FT syndrome as Shaq. The one who came out on top from this championship team is Chauncey Billups even though he was shipped to NY by the very management who brought him to Denver, his hometown.

On the management side, Dumars needs to be fired. Bringing in Kuester for Curry was a huge mistake. Detroit could use a lift especially because of their economy. Disband this team, but for the newer players. Let the old men seek employment elsewhere.

Sorry...I have to blame Joe D for this one. Why wasn't Avery Johnson hired TWO YEARS ago?? First Michael Curry, now THIS CLOWN? He spent a gang of money on Ben Gordon and Charlie V and didn't even get a SHOT at Bosh, LeBron OR Melo?? C'mon Joe. I loved you but it's time to hit the road!
