'Dumb And Dumber' Sequel? Farrelly Brothers Say It's Possible

Dumb And Dumber

So you're saying there's a chance?

Yep!

Promoting their new gross-out, relationship comedy "Hall Pass," the Farrelly brothers admitted at a press junket in Sydney that they were in the nascent stages of developing a true sequel for their mid-90's classic, "Dumb and Dumber".

"[Dumb and Dumber] has run a bunch of times on TV in the states, and kids will come up and they'll be able to quote lines from that - lines that I've long forgotten," Bobby Farrelly said (via Moviehole). "If we could get those two guys back together, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels that might be a worthwhile sequel - and that ball is in motion. We're starting to think about what those two dimwits would be doing twenty-years later in life, and hopefully we'll be able to come up with something worthy of a sequel."

Of course, there was the prequel film "Dumb and Dumberer," but that didn't star either Carrey or Daniels. Which made it difficult to accept as a true part of the film's canon.

This spring, the Farrellys will film their long-awaited "Three Stooges" adaptation, which Carrey was once in fact attached to doing.

This would mark a new chapter in the continuing comeback of the Farrellys, who stumbled in the 2000s after 90's blockbuster hits such as "Dumb and Dumber" and "There's Something About Mary". It'd be a big move for Carrey, too, who is working to revive his career after a bit of a lull; he got strong reviews for his performance in "I Love You Phillip Morris," and recently guest hosted "Saturday Night Live".

How about they created the whole banking mess when working in the mail room at Goldman Sachs. Spilling some Mountain Dew on a computer, when they try cleaning it up they move a couple of Commas on the screen causing the worst disaster in years. Almost writes itself

I know there is an inevitable debate about what's funny and what is not funny will be raised, with that having been said this movie is one of the greatest movie comedies of all time. I would pay to see a sequel and hope it gets done...

YES PLEASE!!!! But only if they can get Carey and Daniels. DD is one of my favorite movies of all time. I have seen it maybe 200 times and still laugh all the way through it. If they can pull it off I will be there opening night.
