Louisville Cheerleader Gets Technical Foul, Almost Costs Team Win Over Pittsburgh (VIDEO)

WATCH: Louisville Cheerleader Almost Costs Team A Win

After Louisville guard Kyle Kuric dunked in the final seconds of Sunday's game against Pittsburgh to extend the lead to five, the home crowd went wild and the Cardinals cheerleaders started to celebrate under the basket.

Kuric's dunk put his team up 62-57, but .5 seconds remained on the clock. One of the male cheerleaders didn't know, stepped onto the court and chucked the ball into the air.

The referee called a technical foul on the cheerleader, giving two free throw attempts to the Panthers along with possession of the ball. Pittsburgh guard Ashton Gibbs made both free throws and the Panthers had an opportunity to tie the game with a last-second 3-pointer.

Pittsburgh missed the final shot and Louisville won 62-59, letting the male cheerleader off the hook.

"The male cheerleader is coming to an end," Louisville coach Rick Pitino said with a smile after the game. "It was good while it lasted. It was fun. Now we'll try another sport for him."
