Oscars 2011 Worst-Dressed: See Who Left Us Speechless (PHOTOS)

Well, this part is never easy. It's not in our nature to be catty, but some outfits that came down Sunday's red carpet left us feeling a little speechless. We liked the color of Jennifer Hudson's tangerine gown, but found it unflattering to her décolletage. Nicole Kidman's look fell as flat as her bangs. Reese Witherspoon threw us for a loop with all those hair extensions. Penelope Cruz looked a little too Vegas, Hillary Swank was a bit boring, Anne Hathaway's first on-stage look washed her out, and Amy Adams, oh, Amy Adams. We were so close to giving you best-dressed, but can't comprehend the necklace that was worn on top of your dress.

I disagree with the assessments here. No way these women were worst-dressed at the Oscars. If you don't like the green necklace with the blue dress-- it's just opinion. If you think Penelope Cruz needed a half-inch more material up top to make the dress fit without choking the bosom, sure, but the dress is gorgeous and so is she.. and Hudson's dress does do something weird to the decolletage, but she looks beautiful all the same.

The colour of Hudson's dress was an excellent choice for her and she does look great generally,but the design itself could have been a little better.

I really like L'Wren Scott's work so I like both of the dresses by her in the line up. :)

I agree that Cate Blanchett should be on the worst dress list.
I mean, seriously, that picture frame design is just so unflattering.
I love Cate and she's always a fashionista to me. But this is a misstep and it should be called out to be shot.

Everyone looked great on Oscar night. If no one is worst-dressed, you don't need to make a worst-dressed list. I don't understand how you came up with this particular list, but it's rather insulting.

I LOVED JENNIFER HUDSON IN THAT DRESS.. SHE LOOKS GORGEOUS! AND AMY ADAMS LOOKS TERRIFIC, so did Sandra Bullock and Michelle Williams; CLASS ACTS.. and they looked so comfortable.. .. THINK PALTROW IS WAY LESS THAN ALL THAT!

My gosh...I wish I could afford just one of these dresses and could look have as good as most of these ladies looked wearing them. Most of the were fabulous. A few were just o.k. I didn't like Cate Blanchett's dress but she still looked beautiful. The only true fashion disaster in my opinion was Helena Bonham Carter (I think that is her name) and my impression is that she intentionally tries to be one and always succeeds.

Jennifer Hudson's dress would have been much classier without showing boobs. I realize she wants to show off her weight loss ... but she chose the wrong dress to do it in.

What? Whoever picked these for this list is smoking crack. I'm expecting fashion disasters, and ALL of these dresses are better choices for the actresses wearing them than several of the examples on the Best Dressed list. How are Nicole Kidman and Hillary Swank on this list when Cate Blanchett got onto the Best Dressed list wearing a rejected costume from the Broadway staging of She-Ra: The Musical?

And seriously, Amy Adams looks freaking gorgeous in that blue dress. I've never seen her looking that great.

It's like the two lists got mixed up. I think the top fashion disaster of the night was actually Scarlett Johansen, who might have picked up that horrible fuschia number from Ross Dress for Less.

I agree with you both.
Nicole Kidman, while not perfect, is hardly a worst-dressed.
That outfit is gorgeous.
The only thing I would change about her look is her hair. Make it more coiffed and less messy.

Yeah, April Fools came a little early. There's really nothing wrong with any of these dresses. Kidman's is especially nice.
