First, I'm sick of all the comments about the 'hookers'. Sex is something we give away free all day everyday,so who are you to judge someone getting paid for it. Mind your business. Second, it's clear he's going through something, but who the heck are all of you to diagnose him? Have you met him? Do you have a degree to back up your talk? No? Didn't think so. Third, so he wants more money...CBS has made hundreds of millions off of his name and the popularity of that show.. Charlie, the rest of the cast and crew should all get a piece of that pie. Fourth, If he's such a wreck... look away. You do have that option.

okay putting aside the fact that this guy is rich. i feel very bad for the guy. his personal wealth is what makes it easier for the people around him to put up with this behavior... which i would like to add is not normal but any stretch of the definition. He needs to get some serious help.

It's one thing to self destruct in the privacy of your anonymity... it's entirely worse when ur decline is on center stage for the world to see with people at the bottom cheering your fall. he will be more than paying for this even if he gets his self together.

I wonder when he'll realize that those two gals are about as close to being goddesses as I am. That's the video I want to see.

Yes, but which is the bigger winner - Charlie or Mel?

Anyone interested in a buddy flick?

It's been one great big joke for him, appearing on Howard Stern, talking about his "goddesses", etc. and then yesterday at 4 o'clock in the morning they took his children away. Hopefully that was a sobering experience for him.

One thing I've seen nobody write about is the simple reality that Sheen was fired. And anyone who has ever been fired goes through the something akin to the five stages of grief as first introduced by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.

This is not to suggest that he doesn't have a host of other issues fueled by substance abuse and perhaps other underlying psychiatric or personality issues, but merely to point out that at least part of his very public "meltdown" is that he just got fired in a very public and no doubt humiliating way.

Again, I do not excuse or condone his conduct, but at least on the level of losing your job, his is a not uncommon reaction.

The most intelligent comment I've heard so far on the Charlie Sheen Train Wreck. Sure, his comments make him look foolish, monomaniacal and drug-addled, but once we get past the Charlie Sheen jokes, there are real questions about what is going on with this man?

If nothing else, it's a fascinating "teaching moment," to borrow an overused phrase, to observe the process of substance abuse and how it affects one's career and behavior. And how those negative effects become further complications in trying to get to the source of the trouble --- why he used and continues to use, and what happened in his past to lead him to this point? There's a lot of anger here --- it's worse, because he's focused on anger over being fired and not at what or who he's really angry at.

These rants remind me a lot of the videotape that Jared Loughner guy, who's accused of killing and wounding all those people in Tucson, Arziona, made of himself, wandering around a college campus. Maybe there's something physically wrong with Sheen --- just as it will probably turn out with the Tucson terrorist --- that offers a biological explanation for this meltdown, his addiction to drugs.and his anger.

Interesting comparison to Loughner. Disjointed, illogical, 1st person streams of nonsense. The only difference, Charlie is handsome and charismatic and rich and famous, so no is calling the authorities...yet.

Your follow up doesn't appear here Jdaddy, but that is right, I forgot, no one called the authorities for Loughner either. I see where Sean Penn has invited Sheen to Haiti. If his charisma can aid the plight of the Haitians, cool. Interesting, of the two pals who grew up together in Malibu, you would have guessed Sean to be the burn out. Instead, he is actor, director and humanitarian extraordinaire. God bless, Charlie.

thank you. it seems like everyone much rather gloat at his failures. To get fired and to be messed up from a serious substance abuse problem is a terrible cocktail. i don't condone his actions either. this is one of those cases where restating the obvious is not annoying, but actually helpful.

How is a video of a guy who will be dead by Christmas in the Comedy section?

I'll tell you who's NOT winning... This dude's manically ill brain. His ramblings are funny, but they're also scary in that they're pretty textbook signs of someone in a manic episode. He and his brain are headed for a hard crash back to earth, hopefully sooner than later for everyone involved.

Nothing funny about this --- shouldn't have been in the "comedy" section at all. But it IS fascinating, in the same way a video of a plane or train or auto crash is fascinating. There's probably not much anyone can do to help him at this point --- unless he admits that he needs help ---- but at least his public meltdown can be documented so that perhaps his behavior can be studied and used to help other people before they get to this point.

What a sad, but very familiar story --- a man who had advantages from the beginning, including a famous father, celebrity, weath, fame, and through his own doing, lost it all.

Yes indeed. Very tragic. I just hope his story gets better from here, not worse, for the sake of his children.
