Natalie Portman 'Disgusted' By John Galliano Video

Natalie Portman, whose Miss Dior campaign just dropped, has now spoken out about John Galliano's "I love Hitler" rant.

According to the New York Times, the actress released the following statement on Monday:

"I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano's comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way."

The Times adds, "it was not known how Ms. Portman's contract with Dior might be affected." Although Portman was expected by fashion insiders to hit Sunday night's Oscars in Dior, she donned Rodarte instead -- her stylist Kate Young told the newspaper that had been the plan since the beginning.

Why does anyone even take him seriously? Look at what he's wearing on his melon. You can't look at him and think he is anything BUT whacked. You cannot take someone seriously that goes around with plants, butterflies and stockings on his head.

The repeated comment is that since Portman supported Polanski she has no business claiming the moral highground and getting indignant over Galliano's remark. Really? Tavis Smiley is helping R Kelly in writing his autobiography yet I've heard him denounce people like Don Imus and Michael Richards. Everytime Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson complains about racism do we point out the multitiudes of wrong doings they have committed or supported when done by people of their own ethnicity and say that racism gets a free pass because of it?

You really need a lot more solid evidence other than chucking in a quick link (which would take an hour to find her name alone in the list). After 15 minutes of searching for that alleged "quote", I gave up.

Then there is also the matter of this being the internet where anyone can claim some celebrity said (make up something) and vilify them for it.

Bottom line is people have the right to have an opinion and express themselves as long as it isn't hateful speech.

It was the 2nd Portman alleged "quotation" I took umbrage at and as anyone can see, I was right as tykams admitted to making it up in the 1st line of his/her reply.

Does it really matter what happened prior to the camera rolling? It isn't a puppet talking in the video, it's Galliano. And now on two occasions. She was asked immediately after coming off the Oscars stage and didn't comment, I wouldn't really call today's comment quick to judge considering the video footage. It's not righteous perfection that prompted the comment, she's Jewish! What is she supposed to say, 'gosh I love his clothes so much that his Nazi rant doesn't even matter?'

Maybe she's talented, and just won a top Oscar, as well as all of the top female actor awards this year. She's also got staying power and has been turning in magnificent performances since she was 13. But hey, you're right, the Jews own the media, so they have to talk nice about her. WTF!
