Ben Quayle Defends Calling Obama The 'Worst President In History' (VIDEO)

Freshman Rep. Ben Quayle (R-Ariz.), son of former Vice President Dan Quayle, on Wednesday defended calling President Obama the "worst president in history" in a confrontational campaign ad during the 2010 election season.

In an interview with ABC News' "Top Line," Quayle appeared hesitant to again claim outright that the president's two-year legacy would make him a clear candidate for the shameful title, but went on to explain some policies that he still felt were detrimental to the country and deserving of consideration.

"If you look at the amount of debt that he's piled on in a short two years -- it's over $4 trillion -- if you look at the foreign policy that he's initiating, no other president in the history of our country has gone around and apologized for our nation," Quayle said. "That alone would put him up there in one of the worst."

After his explanation, Quayle said he was more concerned about addressing the economic situation in the nation than being a "pundit" on Obama's place in history.

During the interview, the freshman congressman also talked about the stopgap budget proposal, which was recently passed by the Senate, and explained the need to address entitlement reform as a way to further cut spending and deficits.
