Though the screen size remains the same (9.7 inches diagonally), the new iPad is 8.8mm at its thinnest point and 13.4mm at its thickest--33 percent slimmer than it predecessor. It also weighs 1.3 pounds, compared to the first iPad's 1.5-pound weight. Ummm... I'm just fine with my Xoom. Its just as awesome and does everything the apple can do only more. Like Flash for one. It doesn't break the internet. LOL!

the xoom does flash? i tried it at best buy yesterday and i am not so sure about that. i know they were supposed to get the flash update in the spring.

Is this an Apple commercial? How about focusing on the Motorola Xoom? It offers a lot more than the ipad--like flash for instance. I don't want big brother Jobs deciding for me. Stop drinking the Kool-aid!

I could care less about Garage Band, and I like Android and wish the IPad had Flash, however the IPad is still hands down the better tablet. It has the smoothest and most accurate screen too

Don't tell me. It still doesn't have a USB port.

I'll look for a Craig ePad for $100. So it's like a Model-T. You can have any color you want as long as it's black. Who cares? If I'm using it I'm looking at the color screen. If I'm not using it then I'm not looking at it period.

i expect apple to sell another 15 million units before september, when the release the iPad 3, and sell ANOTHER 15 million units.. thats about 27 Billion in revenue for apple.. yay apple.

you can say whatever you want about the product, but it is out there and it is popular.

Yes apple is another company and as a company it tries to sell as much as it can. No harm in that.

As for the product itself, it isn't bad far from it, it is up to the consumer to make a purchase he/she believes suits his/her needs.

So I think these entire discussions of love/hate ipads, xooms etc etc, are an exercise in total futility, however they serve a purpose, that of allowing us (myself included) to have a virtual pub brawl and blow off some steam, by picking on raving fanboys who run as soon as someone points out any deficiency of any system and fervently defend it (as if Apple or Google need this sort of trollish defence).

On another note WP7 apps have gone past the 10K point which is amazing. It took Android 4 months longer than WP7 to reach that milestone. Unfortunately MS is the company we love to hate so the announcement slipped under the radar. ;-)

Yay I can still love my iPad 1 and not feel like I'm missing out. So the 2 is a tad thinner (not even lighter).... the iPad 1 is plenty fast already, I take pictures with a Nikon, and the 4.3 upgrade will be available for the iPad 1 so I don't even see why they included the new OS as a feature specific for this new device.

Newsflash!!!!!! The Xooms SD card does not even function......I repeat.......Honeycomb got shipped in Alpha and nobody wants to talk about how the Flash or the SD card won't even work until an upgrade......and we all know Droid upgrades never seem to arrive!!!!!! Not to mention that to get the 4g upgrade will take weeks!!!!!......and don't respond talking about how it will only take 6 days because we all know it will be a disaster when you ship that Xoom back to Moto!!!!!.....and I also love and use Droid so, sorry Fanboy won't work this time....suckkaaaasssss!!!!!

there are "wants" not "needs". and I want one. never owned anything Apple since my first desktop, an Apple2e.in the late 70's[?} In it's day, that 2e was slick.
