Steve Jobs Unveils iPad 2 At Apple Event

Apple

After much speculation as to whether Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who is currently on medical leave from the company, would show up to Wednesday's Apple press conference, the man himself has appeared on stage.

"We've been working on this product for a while and I didn't want to miss today," he said, to a standing ovation from the gathered crowd. "Today we're here to talk about Apple's third post-PC blockbuster product," he said, according to Engadget's live blog. "That's how we think about these things. We started with the iPod, then we added the iPhone, and then the iPad. Every one has been a blockbuster."

Jobs recently attended a dinner with President Obama and other tech leaders (PHOTOS). Since his medical leave, COO Tim Cook has been running day-to-day operations at the company.

After a short video promoting the iPad, Jobs returns to ask: "What about 2011? Everyone has a tablet. Will it be the year of the copycats?"

This was all a ploy by Apple to keep people off their backs cause Jobs is dying and they dont want anyone to know about. They want to keep their stocks high by lying and deceiving the public, like they do with everything.

Way to go Steve. It was great to see him out there.

Now this is what I'm talking 'bout!

I heard that the Ipad 2 is thinner....Hmmm...like Steve Jobs huh..
When I saw him walking on the stage (on TV)..I saw a walking skeleton..
I think most of us are jealous of him because of his success and arrogance. But we have to admit that this guy is a genius when it comes to product innovation. Wish you all the best and enjoy it while it last, Steve.

Good luck Steve, hope you get well. Interesting how a billionaire gets great health care in this county, at the same time it can't be said for the workers that assemble your iPhone or iPad. Apparently basic human heath is not for the poor or someone dumb enough to work for Apple in one of their sweat shops.

Looks like only a skeleton left in Steve Jobs. I wish him well.
He has so much to offer.

Who Is He In Yonder Stall?

He's gaunt, but unbowed. I suspect he has quite a bit of juice left in him. It's good that he's resting at home. Rest is the best medicine.

Much has been said about his appearance, but honestly, he doesn't look all that much different than the last time he took the stage.

Get well Steve!
Yes, there are things we all hate about Apple, but the world needs more people bringing ideas to life and thinking of the next big things. Innovation.

To the liberal community here on HP ... isn't Steve jobs the epitome of the corrupt corporate greed?  Products made in sweat shops, putting more money to the bottom line of the corporation and their stockholders.

Or does he get a free pass because his company makes cool stuff?

I have a friend who has sat in Apple meetings with Jobs and he's a monster. I guess fear gets things done. Just another billionaire like the rest of them. They do make pretty products though. Expensive, but pretty.

You should study the history of Apple a bit more.
10:01 AM on 03/03/2011
Seems that liberals didn't bother to study the history of John Mackey and Whole Foods before boycotting them. It seems quite subjective in approach when it comes to the "evil" corporations.

Apple's own specs page for the iPad 2 ("i2") interestingly redefines "Central Processing Unit" (aka "CPU") as "chip", as if somehow "CPU" is a dirty word that only computer science experts understand and therefore must be redefined...

More importantly, they're remarkably quiet on the amount of RAM the device has.

http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/

The best I could find, in terms of sussing out how much the new iGadget has, is this:
http://gizmodo.com/#!5774768/does-the-ipad-2-really-only-have-256mb-of-ram

iSucker2, it seems.

But why am I a sticker on RAM?  Because more RAM means faster OS performance, better application performance, the ability of applications to do more work without being constrained by hardware limitations, and the apparently needless desire to run more applications at once (iPads do really multitask, right?  And were built from the ground-up to do so, yes?)

I've already correct YOU, if I'm not mistaken, about this on another thread. It's not a simple processor, it's a SYSTEM ON A CHIP. All you have to do to not be ignorant is LEARN.

I hope he is getting well. No one can deny that he is a true innovator, something that seems to be lacking in this country.

I hope he is as well, but if everybody was an innovator then what excuse would be lobbed at the working class?
