'Always Open With David Koechner': New Web Series Chats With Jason Bateman, Will Arnett & More Over Breakfast (VIDEO)

"Arrested Development" fans will get a kick out of this new web series, if not for its hilarious guests (including "AD" alums) but for the fact that it's produced by Will Arnett and Jason Bateman's company DumbDumb. That's right, a real-life Bluth brothers business and it isn't even called Gobias Industries!

We got our hands on this trailer for "Always Open With David Koechner" on the Dennys YouTube page and couldn't believe how many funny folks are involved.

A call to DumbDumb's rep confirmed that the series, produced by DumbDumb and sponsored by Denny's, will consist of semi-weekly three-minute episodes featuring Koechner chatting with a different comic over breakfast. The first 3-minute episode will premiere Monday on both sites (as well as on College Humor) and will feature Jason Bateman. The trailer shows future guests to include Sarah Silverman, Amy Poehler, Will Arnett, Kristen Bell and Will Forte.

In case you were wondering, DumbDumb's game is producing "brand-inspired entertainment content" like that funny Arnett short "The Prom" that circulated last summer and was sponsored by Orbit gum. The idea is to integrate sponsorship in a way that doesn't affect the comedy, and while we don't know if the web-savvy comedy crowd these comics attract will go for such blatant product placement, you can't deny that the series looks really promising.

Watch the full trailer below. New episodes will be available every few weeks staring Monday with Koechner's chat with Bateman.

I was touched to see two icons of American humor sharing food and feeding each other. The connection between them was fantastic. Both are such a pleasure to watch on the screen. OK... I lie!

Sounds like Between Two Ferns, but more topical and not as funny. No idea why Kristen Bell is on the list of guests. She's not a comedian. Nor funny. Nor particulary good at acting. Hope they meant Kristen Wiig.

Same ol' little clique. No diversity. No edge. Safe. Sorry. Milquetoast millionaires.

That's an interesting comment. I think, sometimes, that's often why a lot of projects in the entertainment industry don't work out...to many breaks given to friends of friends who aren't always right for the job. And yes, not enough freshness and diversity. I mean, I do think that a lot of the people featured on this web series are very talented. But you're right--they do seem to be in a clique of sorts.

Then too, sometimes it seems as though life is one big high school anyway...

I'd definitely have a look. If that is the cost of advertising, it's cheap by my standards.

Sarah Silverman is not that funny. I'll be looking out for Will Arnett and AMy Poehler.

That's so much more funny coming from you, a professional comedian who fills venues big and small all over the nation.

One would think that a comedian that fills venues big and small all over the nation would be a little more newsworthy today than she was a year ago. I thought she honestly retired. I havent seen or heard her name in a while.
