Kanye West To Get Master's Degree At Central St. Martins College?

UPDATE: According to PopEater, West has not applied to Central St. Martins. A spokeswoman for the school said he visited the campus recently on "unrelated matters."

A college dropout no more?

The Sun reports that Kanye West has applied to London's Central St. Martins College to obtain his Master's degree in fashion.

The musician and fair-weather Tweeter journeyed to Britain last week to meet with revered St. Martins professor Louise Wilson.

Apparently, West is already quite familiar with the school A source told the Sun that "Kanye spends a lot of time with fashion students and often hooks up with Central's arty pupils when he is in London."

St. Martins alumni include Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and M.I.A.

I can't stand this guy, but I end up reading news of him anyway. The thing that caught my eye in the story is that he'd applied for a masters degree. When I got my masters, I didn't drop by some trade shows. I studied night and day. I wrote papers that, when they were good, helped, and when they were bad, helped more. I didn't go unannounced to my professors and tell them what opportunites they were to afford me. This child has some learning to do.

What are his text books going to be? Vouge and Elle? If they gave out Degrees in stupidity he'd be at the top of the class. And no, being rich or making money is not a measure of his intelligence, it's a measure of the publics lack of taste. See Donald Trump or Charlie Sheen as two other examples.

Despite the article being about Kanye applying to a FASHION masters program, you fail to recognize why he's wearing sun glasses inside. Fashion doesn't care about functionality. Maybe you should get a degree in common sense.

Uhh, I'm a fashion design student and almost everyone who leaves the program I'm in has a job leaving the college...it's actually a very easy industry to get into if you understand that you work your way up. You start at the bottom just like everyone else, but there are plenty of jobs at the entry level positions. And yeah, there are very few who make it as designers with their name as the label, but do you know how many people work for those designers? People who work with Illustrator/Photoshop, pattern-makers, drapers, merchandisers, etc etc. I could easily get a job as a pattern-maker and make as much money as anyone else who is looking for an entry level position, but the difference is that I have a real, marketable skill. I didn't spend 4 years in business classes not listening to the professor and getting drunk every night, barely passing with a 2.0. I worked very hard for my degree, and I have the skills to prove it.
