Ron Artest Fan Coffee

Nothing was going right for the San Antonio Spurs in their disappointing 99-83 home loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday... not even for their fans.

In the third quarter, Ron Artest knocked the ball away from Spurs forward DeJuan Blair and chased it out of bounds. The 31-year-old couldn't stop and collided with a fan named Bob, who wasn't looking as he was just about to sit down in his courtside seat.

Although Artest appeared to do a good job of holding onto Bob, he managed to spill the fan's coffee all over his shirt.

"It was coffee, but it wasn't real hot. I'm fine. And apparently I got a free shirt," Bob said. "When you sit in the front row, you've got to expect this. And I didn't pay so it's okay."

Bob also said that Artest immediately asked if he was okay and after everything settled down, the Lakers star said he was sorry that he was wearing a white shirt.

Anyone who drinks coffee at an NBA game deserves to wear it.

I notice that Ron Artest does this a lot and I get the feeling that he enjoys doing it. It's not even an effort to save the ball, but rather to get a laugh or a mention on a highlight reel. Artest is risking injury and if karma exists, next time i would hope that the seas part (fans move out of the way) and Artest rams his head against a steel railing....that would be awesome and a very good lesson for any other knucklehead basketball player who thinks this is funny, sometimes there are kids in the seats and someday somebody can get really hurt.

And this deserves comment, why? It happens quite frequently at games and no kind of "item" is ever written about it. There was absolutely nothing special about this.

That's what he gets for drinking coffee at the game instead of beer.
