McQueen Fall/Winter 2011: Sarah Burton Turns Out Royal Wedding-Worthy Collection (PHOTOS)

Sarah Burton didn't do much on Tuesday to disuade the fashion community from thinking that she's designing Kate Middleton's wedding dress.

Sure, when asked over the weekend, the McQueen designer explicitly told Vogue UK, "I am not doing it," but after sending a series of full, white frocks strutting at her runway show in Paris, it seems everyone is rooting for her. After seeing the collection Hilary Alexander Tweeted, "Alexander McQueen.. Fit for.a Queen," Joe Zee: "Kate Middleton, I love you but if you don't have Sarah Burton design your wedding dress, you're making a big mistake. HUGE," Anne Slowey: "LIFT OFF AT McQUEEN!!!! Kate Middleton: HELLOOOOO!!!!" and Meenal Mistry: "Honestly, I don't really understand why Sarah Burton at #McQueen making Kate Middleton's dress isn't a foregone conclusion."

Alack and alas, it's all just speculation. But royal wedding rumors aside, there's not much that can stop us from fawning over Burton's exquisite gowns, outrageous footwear and barrette-bedecked models.

The first picture looks like a Tube Worm popping out of Brain Coral. For some reason, that doesn't scream "Sexy!" to me. It just SCREAMS!

I like all of these!!! I think maybe one of them are appropriate for a wedding but nonetheless i love them! The shoes with the spike in the back....LOVE.

anyone else thinking 'emperor's new clothes' rather than royal wedding attire?---one would have to be both stupid and incompetent to wear what these contemporary fabric weavers have sewn together. at the end of the photos, you see that the incompetent seamstress really isn't and has on blue jeans, flats and a comfy shirt. design is not about excess, it's about ordinary comfort looking custom designed.

These models all look like extras from "Night of the Living Dead"

I hate the current fad of "neutral" lips - most women look dead, especially those of us of a certain age (or older). Don't know about you, but my lips are definitely NOT the same color as my skin. If they were, I'd be worried!

In reality, I didn't see but one gown suitable for a wedding dress. The others looked like evening gowns or cocktail dresses. Also, couldn't they have, at the very least, put some makeup on those models instead of that stark kabuki white with no lipstick? Rather than making you concentrate on the clothes, it was very distracting!
