iPad 2 Lines Snake Outside Apple Stores (PHOTOS)

On Friday, Apple released the iPad 2, a thinner, lighter, faster successor to the iPad.

When the original Apple tablet launched, throngs of customers queued up for hours (in some cases, days) outside Apple stores around the U.S., waiting to get their hands on the new device. This year, some fans again showed up days in advance to be the very first with a new iPads, while others auctioned off their spots in line to the highest bidder.

Even in the small town I live in where I waited in line and got the 9th out of 10 to be sold at the Best Buy, there was a guy who waited in line overnight.

I have drank Steve's Kool-Aid. I love and own a lot of Apple products.... but something about seeing these lines at a time when the world seems to be so much suffering makes me both envious and repulsed for their trivial joy at the same time....

Chinese nationals are in line at Apple SoHo NYC. There are about 300 in line here, >90% Chinese, ready to buy two to send home to feed the grey market.
