Man Caught On Tape Punching 80-Year-Old While Waiting For Grocery Store Bathroom

WATCH: Man Caught On Tape Punching 80-Year-Old

Dale Contursi, a 47-year-old man from the Chicago suburbs, was arrested in the city last week, charged with punching an 80-year-old man in the face outside a grocery store bathroom.

Surveillance footage from the scene (scroll down to watch) shows two men getting into an altercation outside of the bathroom, which ends when the younger man hits the senior citizen, and then flees. He ran from the grocery store after the conflict, according to police; the injured man suffered some bruising but was not hospitalized.

A week later, though, security workers at the store identified the same man from the altercation returning to the store. They captured a clearer shot of his face on surveillance cameras and notified Chicago police. Soon thereafter, the police captured Contursi, from the northwest suburb of Rosemont, who was identified as the same combatant from a week prior by witnesses.

Contursi is charged with a felony count of Aggravated Battery to a Senior Citizen. He is set to appear in court on Wednesday, March 16.
