Kate is a normal woman not a supermodel and the Windsors (I'm not going to call them "royal" since theres no such thing) should stop trying to dress mutton up as lamb in order to still $$ in on taxpayer's money

I should hope she would "become a woman from a girl" during the time she entered college and now, at age 29 yrs old. She is also not the only young woman who spends time working out at gymns, going to beauty shops for hair styling and opting for a blow dry before leaving the place, and whether she is to be a Princess or not, she, like many other young women today, go for eyebrow, lip, and other places waxes, pedis and manis, etc. It is also not the first time we have seen her in a bikini, which, again, is what all young women wear these days, and it will not be the last, because no matter how private a get away to a beach may be, there sill be super lenses copping a photo. She is not flaunting anything and she is not wasting time beautifying herself, no more so than any other young woman.

So - in 2009, the Royal Family cost the average UK taxpayer approximately 69p (just over 1 US dollar). Tourism revenue for the UK in 2005 (sorry - can't find 2009) was 14.2bn pounds which equates to approx. 235 pounds per UK taxpayer.

I'm not saying that all of that income can be directly attributed to the UK Royal Family - but it's a fact that people come to see a 'real life' functioning monarchy. The Queen also fulfills a valuable role as head of state - something that lucky individuals like the US President have to timeshare with their day job as head of the government.

I would say that a 341% return on our 69p investment is probably a no-brainer.

Wow, a born-pretty 24-yr-old member of the privileged upper class, and future queen, is somehow able to get herself into good physical shape one year for a few photos. What a testament to her deep inner strength and character as a human being.

It's been a cathartic tradition for the Brits for several hundred years to be able to mock the royals. Does everyone good, evidently, to feel the privileged can be taken down a peg by us commoners. It's good sport, so why not, right? Life can't be all gloom and doom.

she is a beautiful young lady...she is a commoner meaning just like any one of us who is suddenly thrust into this whole royal family rules...
who cares if she is in a bikini...she does look very good in it! but it is no big deal
among the commoners but now that she will become a princess, i am sure she will no longer
be doing "common" things!

The Daily Mail had a story on Prince William criticizing him for wearing sneakers to a lunch with Kate and her sister at some posh London restaurant. You know it's a slow news day on the royal wedding front when William's shoes and Kate's been out there for a long time bikini photos are the big royal news story.

What a joke. Kate on a boat in a bikini has been a common sight over the past eight years. It's one of the reasons she's criticized for being waity kaity. People saw too much of her lounging on boats in a bikini, hanging out at the polo field, and falling out of nightclubs, and not enough of her attending charity events or working. This just shows how desperate the press is to make some sort of Kate Middleton news on a day when there aren't any wedding details to report.
