Larry Liston Introduces Bill To Allow Grocery And Convenience Stores To Sell Full-Strength Beer

Battle Over Beer Continues With Bill To End Full-Strength Beer Restrictions

Colorado state Rep. Larry Liston will introduce a bill Tuesday to allow grocery and convenience stores to sell full-strength beer, furthering a public fight that has taken up significant time during the past two weeks of the legislative session.

The effort by Liston, R-Colorado Springs, will represent the fourth straight year that the two groups of stores have attempted to sell more than just the low-strength beer they're allowed to peddle under current law. All of the previous bills dealing with the matter have died before getting to the House or Senate floors.
