Nasa Finds Cocaine Space Center

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — NASA is investigating after cocaine was found in a facility at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

NASA spokesman Allard Beutel said Tuesday that 4.2 grams of a white powdery substance was found last week at the NASA facility, though he would not say where.

It tested positive for cocaine.

It's not the first time cocaine has been found at the space center.

A small amount was discovered in January 2010 in a secure part of a hangar that housed space shuttle Discovery. A spokeswoman from NASA's Inspector General Office in Washington declined to comment on how that case was resolved.

NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft just became the first man-made object to enter into orbit around the planet Mercury. It is also the first spacecraft to visit the innermost planet of our solar system since the Mariner 10 probe made its final flyby in 1975.

The orbital mechanics of Mercurial exploration are exceptionally difficult because of the strong gravitational pull of the nearby Sun. The MESSENGER mission was made possible by an innovative trajectory developed by NASA astrophysicists involving a series of gravitational slingshots around Earth, Venus, and Mercury before last night's rocket-powered orbital insertion.

MESSENGER carries two optical cameras, gamma-ray spectrometer, neutron spectrometer, x-ray spectrometer, magnetometer, laser altimeter, two radiometers, and two plasma spectrometers.

If only my parents could afford space camp, I'd be flying high right now.

I should've been an astronaut. Sounds like NASA lays down lines on the bathroom counter; right next to the condom dispenser.

"a lot"?

That's 1/7th of an ounce!
04:46 PM on 03/17/2011
Yeah that's a lot. Oh wait I was thinking about m.eth. 4.7 grams of that goes surprisingly far. But the other stuff, yeah gone in 2 hours.
04:47 PM on 03/17/2011
4.2 grams even.

That is going to be a b*tch trying to get a drug dealer to come to you in space.

What a surprise. If truth were known all kinds of substances have probably been rocketed off into space for both official and unofficial testing.

Remember reading about Lisa Nowak? She was the female astronaught who drove 900 miles in her own urine soaked adult diapers in order to attempt to kidnap a woman she thought was having sex with her manstress (http://goo.gl/SRaqy)? I'm not the least bit surprised to hear there is cocaine at NASA.
