Having trouble getting on Twitter? You're not alone.

Twitter's Status blog notes that the service is "Experiencing elevated error rates," telling users, "You may experience some problems loading twitter.com and with Twitter clients. We are aware of the problem and are taking action."

The cause of the issue is unknown. These problems accessing Twitter.com come hot on the heels of the site's announcement that it would begin offering HTTPS encrypted browsing.

Attempts to access Twitter.com lead to the message, "Something is technically wrong. Thanks for noticing--we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon."

Google's Realtime search for the term "Twitter error" displays a big spike around 2:30 PM EST. There is no word on how long the errors are expected to last.

Twitter is a media company, not a technology company. Of course they constantly fail, they couldnt manage themselves out of an engineering paper bag. Most over-rated service in the world. Your a media puppet if you use Twitter.
