"I'm really fortunate in that I'm still quite young, and can get away with a lot, and my body is very forgiving. We'll see how things progress. I think it's great that women have so much choice now, and choice in products that are backed by science. As long as people are aware of potential risks, and they're working closely with a doctor, I say go for it," says Danes.

"These are real intimate personal decisions, and I don't think anyone should judge anyone," adds the actress.

As someone said before : "plastic surgery doesn't make people look younger, it makes them look like they had plastic surgery "

in V, thomas pynchon has a brilliant chapter about a girl undergoing rhinoplasty. why shouldn't you look like the person who you feel yourself to be behind your looks?

At least she doesn't judge anyone. Not like in politic these people preaching "values" and "family" for other and cheating on their wifes themselves...

She seems to imply that she hasn't had any plastic surgery, but it seems obvious to me that she has had a lot of reconstructive surgery. I remember seeing her credited in a movie in the late 90s/early 00s and thinking:  She wasn't in that movie.  Who did she play?  When I re-wound it, I thought:  That pretty girl had major surgery.  I don't think there's anything on her face that hasn't been re-constructed:  Cheek bones, mouth/chin, eyes.  Her nose fared better - it is only a bit thinner.

"no one should be judged about plastic surgery" -- especially when they're all your friends and co workers.

She must be planning on getting a head start on not 'looking like her mother'.

Birth defects and accident victims aside, everyone should be judged for such sales driven socially manufactured insecurity.

Why is the absolute majority of people against surgery pretty/ beautiful/ have symmetrical faces? If they were born with a highly unattractive face, I assume their attitude would change.

The bottom line is: when you cannot afford it, you are against it.

I don't think most people are criticized for getting plastic surgery, just for not stopping! I don't begrudge some of these aging actors getting a nip and a tuck, but it's when they all start to look alike when you have to wonder if 1. they own a mirror and 2 when will they stop?

I have nothing against plastic surgery. There's nothing wrong with getting a few tweaks here and there. It's those people who just don't know when to stop who are the problem or those who "improve" facial features that don't need improvement to begin with.
