Lara Spencer Returning To 'Good Morning America' From 'The Insider'

NEW YORK — Lara Spencer is leaving television's "The Insider" to return to ABC News.

The network said Thursday that Spencer will be the new "lifestyle anchor" on "Good Morning America."

ABC News President Ben Sherwood said Spencer will focus on family and health issues, along with entertainment and celebrity coverage. Spencer will also appear on other ABC News broadcasts, like "Nightline."

Spencer worked at "Good Morning America" as a national correspondent from 1999 to 2003, before leaving to join the syndicated entertainment news show. She'll be moving back to New York from Los Angeles for her new job.

Misread the headline, I thought it said "Lady" Spencer returning to Good Morning America. It made sense since ABC is willing to go to any length to dig up ratings.

The last thing that I heard about her was that she was supposed to replace Mary Hart on "Entertainment Tonight". I guess she didn't get the gig. She is going to pull a "Campbell Brown" and leave. Lets see how long she lasts at this job.

Oh geez, I was hoping she was gone for good. She is so darned irritating. I used to h ate when she was a guest regular on Rachel Ray. That started the downward spiral of the RR show. Now here we go again. GMA has really gone down hill since Cuomo and Sawyer left. They are too tabloid TV for my liking. The only thing that stopped George S. from talking about Charlie Sheen was a real story- the tragedy in Japan for crying out loud. Corporate sponsered TV and news is a joke. They only feed the sheeple what they want them to digest.
