'The Office,' 'Community' And 'Parks And Rec' Renewed By NBC

NBC announced on Thursday (appropriately) that it has renewed three of its Thursday night comedies: "The Office," "Community" and "Parks and Recreation." This means that nearly all of NBC's Thursday night comedy block is staying on the air next season.

Bob Greenblatt, the head of NBC, praised the three shows in a statement.

"The Office continues to fire on all cylinders on the most competitive night of television," Greenblatt said. "Parks & Recreation has come into its own this season as the rightful companion to The Office; and Community is one of the freshest comedies on any network and a solid foundation for Thursday night."

30 Rock topped itself last week by "replacing" itself with a dead-on full half hour parody of a "Real Housewives" type reality show called "Queen of Jordan" centering on Tracy Jordan's wife (Sherri Shepherd). Also had a great subplot with Susan Sarandon as student-seducing middle school teacher.

I rarely watch TV but I'm a huge fan of Parks and Recreation. The comedy really won me over. I can't remember the last time when I actually looked forward to a program.

I don't find any of the three even remotely funny. The only sitcom I am currently watching is Fox's Raising Hope.

Community started off strong and hysterical only to become completely off. Every character has been written into a different personality and I can't get into any of them. Not funny.

Parks and Recs? Love it - Amy Pohler is great.

The Office? I stopped watching it because it became unfunny. Is it really better now? Who's taking Carrell's place?

Dear NBC (Nothing But Caucasians), there are black women who don't look like Precious. You cannot find room in any of these sitcoms to fit a non-mammy type?! Oh wait. There's Rashida Jones who few even KNOW is half black. In keeping with the lighter the better, I guess you've filled your quota. I'll pass on all of these shows that don't represent me nor anyone I know.

When they talked about Sherry Shepherd's reality show (the real Jordan), I said to myself, that's a show I'd watch. And of course it was funny as heck. The dog even threw a beverage! And only being able to sign a few seconds of her song. LOL 30 Rock and Community, best two shows on teevee.

As someone who has worked with so-called "offshore" personnel from India for the past seven years, I always wondered at this strange head movement that I would sometimes see them doing when I was talking to them. I always assumed they had a crick in their neck or something like that. Well, it was while watching "Outsourced" that I found out from one of the characters what the Indian head bobble is all about: "Sometimes it means yes, sometimes it means no, sometimes it means both and sometimes it means maybe." Keep "Outsourced" on next season's schedule. It is definitely funny. Not to mention that it has some eye candy in a Nicole Kidman look-and-sound-alike in the person of Pippa Black.
