I want to believe that Cuomo is that new breed of Democrat that only emerges every so often, he is clearly a Democrat for the 2016 field, I just hope he can find his way back to our platform, fiscally, by 2016. He's got "Potential FDR" written all over him. It's just up to the Governor as to whether or not he wants to put those shoes on.

I'm going give him a few years and see if he can rectify his ideology closer to that time.

It is true, Cuomo took bribes from his new rich buddy Andrew Farkas, just like a republican would. And he's definitely going to look out for his rich friends by cutting services for the very poor. Compassion is not his style at all.

This is exactly what's wrong with Andrew Cuomo. He certainly isn't a liberal like his dad Mario was. Andrew is far too conservative for my taste, at least on economic issues. He might be liberal on social issues and in favor of legalizing gay marriage, but still, that is not good enough if Andrew Cuomo is conservative on budgetary matters, wanting to decrease the size of government. Also, Andrew Cuomo's position on hydrofracking is wrong, and he is not really very good on environmental issues, since he thinks we should let hydrofracking take place. That would poison New York State's water supply, give many people health problems, and most of the economic benefits would go to out of state workers from places like Texas and natural gas companies from other countries like Spain, and what little economic benefit natural gas drilling will actually give to local residents will pale in comparison to the environmental damage that could make many areas of the state unsuitable for human life, full of toxic substances, and cause property values to drop all the way down near zero. The fact that Andrew Cuomo is far closer to George Pataki than he is to his own father Mario Cuomo in his policies is quite disturbing. But at least Carl Paladino isn't governor. Carl Paladino would have been a million times worse.

Take a look at Mario's record, he wasn't much of a liberal. He screwed the unions.

This should surprise no one since Cuomo gives rich people a tax cut and uses it to lay off teachers and public sector workers.

This is not a big surprise.

Giuliani has always had good political ties with Mario Cuomo. He's simply extending them to Andrew. Mario Cuomo was very pro-NYC in his policies, so Giuliani crossed political lines to support him.
