Sarah Palin: Israel Trip Will Include Meeting With Benjamin Netanyahu

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin will travel to Israel following a stop in India, where she arrived on Wednesday, ABC News reports.

According to AFP, Palin is expected to arrive in the Middle Eastern country on Sunday with her husband Todd. She will reportedly meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next Tuesday.

Politico reports:

Palin's trip will include visits to Jerusalem's Old City and holy sites in Nazareth.

She becomes the latest in a string of potential GOP presidential candidates to travel recently to the Jewish state, including Haley Barbour, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani.

Palin addressed her plans to descend upon Israel in a statement obtained by ABC News.

"I'm thankful to be able to travel to Israel on my way back to the U.S.," she said. "As the world confronts sweeping changes and new realities, I look forward to meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the key issues facing his country, our ally Israel."

AFP reports that Palin will leave Israel next Tuesday after meeting with Netanyahu at which point she will travel to the Far East.
