TechCrunch:

Wow, when I wrote last night that Kevin Rose doesn't really use Digg anymore, I had no idea how perfect the timing was. It turns out Rose really has tuned out. Because, say multiple sources, he's already resigned from the company and is closing a $1+ million financing round for a new startup he's founded.

Digg put Huffington Post on the map. For the two years running up to Obama's election, Digg moved away from fun technology news to liberal politics, almost all of which was Huffington Post article links.

Kind of sad Huffpo only gives a 1 paragraph write up to the site that earned Ariana millions!

He should have sold Digg two years ago. He really missed the boat on that by holding out for a better future that never came.

The redesign was an improvement bu th Little bitch Boy super Users hated it and it killer the growth of Digg. I don't blame him for Selling. New company to later sell at many millions! Who knew simplest & oldest Coupon idea would help Groupon be worth $25 billion......

I abandoned Digg for Reddit and never looked back. Kevin Rose is nothing but a sellout.

Never really got fully into Digg. However, I did enjoy the Kevin and Alex Diggnation podcast. Wonder what will become of it. Can't imagine it will continue with Kevin's departure.

The redesign completely killed it & made it unusable.

too many of the links on digg turn out to just be fakes (i.e. advertisements pretending to be real links/stories)

as such i stopped using it

Digg used to be great but when they changed their page to their new format I lost all interest.

Ditto. I did enjoy the give-and-take to begin with - some of the people there who I totally disagree with actually discuss things with you - but I disliked the new format and pseudo-articles.
