Prince William, Kate Middleton To Honeymoon In Australia?

Royal Honeymoon

First Posted: 03/19/11 05:13 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:40 PM ET

While touring the cyclone-devastated areas of Australia on Saturday, Prince William dropped some serious hints that he might be in favor of a honeymoon spent Down Under, the Telegraph reports.

Weather in Britain right now, the Prince claims, is "dreadful" (as recent photos of the couple have shown, it's been raining lately). He told a local woman: "I love scuba diving, I have always wanted to dive the barrier reef. I will have to come back, maybe we'll have a honeymoon in Cairns?"

In January, rumors swirled that the royal couple would honeymoon in Scilly Islands, just 29 miles away from Cornwall. William vacationed there with his family in 1989.

Nevertheless, royal wedding watchers will certainly have a field day with the latest hints. The wedding, after all, is barely a month away.

I think they are a lovely couple and I am very happy for them. I look forward to watching this wedding as it brings a little love, joy and romance; a change from uprisings, disasters and wars.

He only said that he would return at some point with his wife. Didn't say anything about the Honeymoon being their. They are going to Canad so http://princewilliamwedding.com is reporting.

Call me old-fashioned, but is it still a honeymoon when the lovely couple has been living together some time now.

We in OZ don't care about this wedding or there honeymoon...But my family in UK who pays tax and do so after lot of hard work do not see the excuse Royal family is making that this wedding will generate money in return..Its just a illusion they are creating to get the justification of spending Tax payers money on the wedding....Both bride and groom look dumb and no one is waiting for them here....PW planned the NZ & OZ trip at this time deliberately to get a free invite just like they did for Canada. Seems like they want to honeymoon at the expense of tax payers as well. My sympathies are with the tax payers....who are living a life of misery while these are going to live a luxurious life at there expense...

While they are taxpayers, they are more properly referred to as "subjects." What an outrage.

Oh well...I don't hate pommies...I don't want to give my money to aid/benefit Royal family who is already super rich... ..I don't get anything out of it...I don't see any benefits...You tell me the benefit you get? Since you are paying for the wedding and honeymoon so have they invited you to the 'event'?
My family in UK is suffering...Recession, lack of jobs hardships and then pay for the Royal adventures and leisures....

Wow, that's some hating on the Pommies. You guys are still subjects aren't you?

Am sure his mother would be so proud of her two boys, they have grown up to be pretty normal guys. Hope their marriage works out better than his parents.
Not too fond of his step mother tho.

As the UK taxpayer howls in frustration and misery at having their pockets raided by the greedy Windsors or as they are known to some deluded people - the "royals" - yet again

Laxsmi allow me to tell you something: albeit being a republican (NOT what it means in the USA) and abhor monarchies - the only people I have known throughout my life and experience who embrace gratefully misery are the very intellectuals. Poor people love this sort of spectacle. Cheers.

Funny how these under 30 hipsters who say 'they could care less' about the impending nuptials went gaga about the Katy Perry Russell Brand wedding :)

I can quite honestly say I found Perry and Brand's reality tv episode (i.e wedding) as nauseating as I do the current hype about the other reality tv episode the (i.e  Windsor wedding).

A honeymoon in Australia would be perfect and so would the weather..especially in Queensland and New South Wales. Good luck to both of them...looking forward to getting up at 5am [yuck] to watch the ceremonies on April 29th!!!
