Supermoon PHOTOS: Moon Makes Close Encounter

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 03/20/11 01:35 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:40 PM ET

Did you see it? Saturday night's "supermoon" appeared as planned, as the moon made its closest encounter to Earth since 1993.

From small communities to larger cities, the event was captured by many. But for some, their neighborhood was too overcast to get a good look, or they may have not known about it altogether.

If you missed it, not to worry as there are plenty of photos. Have a look at these incredible supermoon photos from last night. And, by the way! Look to the skies again tonight, March 20, 2011, as the moon will once again appear fairly large.
