Victoria Jackson On 'Glee': Former 'SNL' Star's Homophobic Comments

Glee Jackson

Victoria Jackson may have earned her fame as a comedian, but her recent comments on "Glee" are no laughing matter.

The former "Saturday Night Live" star, now an outspoken political conservative, hit out at the high school choir dramedy in a homophobic rant in her new column for the conservative WorldNetDaily.com. Jackson wrote:

Did you see "Glee" this week? Sickening! And, besides shoving the gay thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians – again! I wonder what their agenda is? Hey, producers of "Glee" – what's your agenda? One-way tolerance?

In the most recent episode of the show, there was a long-awaited kiss between two gay characters, Kurt (played by Golden Globe-winner Chris Colfer) and Blaine; and Kathy Griffin played a religious, Tea Party political candidate modeled after Sarah Palin.

Jackson's comments came after a string of anti-Muslim and Arab diatribe, and immediately followed her saying:

This new al-Qaida magazine for women has beauty tips and suicide-bomber tips! Gimme a break! That is as ridiculous as two men kissing on the mouth! And I don't care what is politically correct. Everyone knows that two men on a wedding cake is a comedy skit, not an "alternate lifestyle"! There I said it! Ridiculous!

Jackson has become known for her outspoken, and often controversial, conservative political statements. In 2009, on a Fox News panel, she said, "My motivation is gone, because [Obama] will punish me if I'm successful. That's how you start communism, is just -- take Cuba. Obama wants to be Castro."

That appearance followed a 2008 onslaught from Jackson, who went after both a campaigning Obama and former "SNL" cast mate Al Franken, who was running for Senate in Minnesota at the time. Writing about Obama, Jackson said that Obama, "bears traits that resemble the antichrist." She also accused him of close friendships with "Communists, domestic and Muslim terrorists, racists and convicted felons."

People like her make me physically ill. You'd think a comedian would know two men on a wedding cake is NOT a comedic skit. It's not even an alternative lifestyle, it's just A lifestyle. Not to mention the racist comments. It's people like her that infuriate left-wingers and give the right a bad name.

You didn't post it did you - was it too Christian?
01:13 PM on 04/05/2011
Homophobic - what does that mean? Why can't a Christian with a basic Biblical view relate to society anymore? Has it gotten THAT bad in the world that we're homophobic if we don't approve homosexuality? Are we alcophobic if we follow the Bible and don't approve of drunkenness? I have a 9 year old son, a 6 year old son and a 4 year old son....They will hopefully accept Jesus as their Savior one day. How can I turn on the television and start to explain why two boys are kissing? This isn't about tolerance and acceptance of homosexuality.....it's about my kids being exposed to sin. I'm not being ignorant, I'm not being close-minded, I'm not being CONSERVATIVE!! I'm simply looking at the Scriptures that I base my WHOLE perspective of eternal life on and seeing that it is clearly NOT ok for two guys or girls to kiss, have sex, or marry. Simple. So YOU GO Victoria Jackson. I'm glad somebody has the platform and the guts to simply state their God-given conscience reaction to something that is clearly wrong, not only on this show, but in our 'feels good' society.

Hahahaha... you are talking about SIN??? LOL pretty soon your boys will be exposed to all kind of "SIN". For example--------> PORN, SEX before marriage, ALCOHOL, WARS, VIOLENCE, and it goes on and on. But here you are singling out people who are Homosexual by nature. You can HATE them all you want, but you don't have the slightest right to tell them how to live their LIFE. For all I care you can hide yourself and your kids in a cave in order not to expose them to "SIN", but please try not to dictate other people's lives. After all, AMERICA is not a country for ONLY CHRISTIANS. Its more DIVERSE than that and that's how it will be for years to come :)

It really sucks that you don't care any more about the minds of our youth than that. You call America diverse. So do I. As African Americans, we embrace diversity. That's great! I never ever implied that it's only for Christians. Quite the opposite it's beginning to seem. But understand where I'm coming from. And don't push that 'by nature' crap on me. That's the most convenient excuse our country has adopted. I'm lazy (by nature), I get drunk (just my nature), I slapped her (sorry, it's just my violent nature), I shot him (couldn't help it, man, it's just my nature). Take a little more pride in your God, your country, your kids (do you have any), and yourself. I'm not going in a cave, because then I've shown my kids I've given up on fighting for the God who put me here to fight blase attitudes and these 'puppet' Americans who are allowing things to keep creeping in to their eyes and minds, that Biblically are simply sin. I sin, you sin, we all sin. But to show kids this junk on primetime.....??? That has nothing to do with diversity, rather perversity.

"Why can't a Christian with a basic Biblical view relate to society anymore?"

Because you views are irrational, plain and simple.

"I'm simply looking at the Scriptures that I base my WHOLE perspective of eternal life on and seeing that it is clearly NOT ok for two guys or girls to kiss, have sex, or marry."

So those kids you have, have they talked back yet (I'm sure they have)? Why didn't you stone them as your Bible commands you to do?
02:40 PM on 04/13/2011
Tell the irrational piece to God. I like plain and simple. And yes they have talked back, and yes, I did stone them.
05:47 PM on 04/04/2011
What a shame. I used to like her.

I'm glad that she is finding something to do other than not be famous anymore.

I find it incredibly ironic when "intolerant people" accuse "sympathetic and understanding people" of being "intolerant of intolerant people". Victoria Jackson seems to be making the statement, "intolerant people unite against the wicked "intolerance of our intolerance". They have been singing this theme song for far too long and most media types appear to lack the analytical skill to challenge the absurdity of their claims.

Between her and Janine Turner; lends credence to that Tea Party Body Snatching Theory.

didn't she date Andrew "Dice" Clay? She should still be apologizing for that before saying anything. She was an unfunny memeber of SNL anyway, just played the "woman" role while other comedians were making us laugh

I find it odd that an actress who worked in New York City on Saturday Night Live would be so vehemently anti-gay. She had to have had gay friends there. You can't be in NYC or the entertainment business without making a few gay friends. So attention to anyone who considers Victoria Jackson their friend: SHE WILL STAB YOU IN THE BACK FOR HER OWN PERSONAL GAIN AND FREE PUBLICITY! Furthermore, she says Glee is "shoving the whole gay thing down our throats" by showing Blaine and Kurt kissing. So what were the writers doing when they showed Finn and Rachel kissing? How about Finn and Quinn? Santana and just about anyone? She didn't complain about that. Talk about your double standards. The only thing I can figure is that she had one too many boyfriends turn out to be gay. If her public statements are any indication of what kind of person she is, she probably turned them that way.

The blonde female in the picture accompanying the article is STILL Denny Dillon (another SNL alum), not Victoria Jackson.

Is the article equally incorrect?
06:35 PM on 03/27/2011
NO, that IS Victoria Jackson. Perhaps you are a fan trying to "cover" for her?
01:28 AM on 04/03/2011
Incorrect how? The article is comprised of Jackson's own words and where they can be found. Easy enough to check--just like whether the accompanying photograph is Ms. Jackson or Denny Dillon...or do they not have Google in Fox Nation?
