It is believed that the 35-year-old professor may have suffered an aneurysm that could have come following a bout of pregnancy-induced hypertension. The young boy that she had delivered seven weeks early is currently at DeVos Children's Hospital and is expected to survive.

According to the Grand Rapids Press, Tait had taught at the Michigan college since 2002 and was a popular professor.

"Jenn was an absolute delight, and she will be sorely missed," Hope Provost Richard Ray wrote in an e-mail to the campus. "May God bless her for all the good she did for each of us who knew and loved her."
