Surviving Chernobyl Cleaner: 'Tell The People Of Japan To Run!'

Chernobyl Japan Nuclear Crisis

AOL:

Every nuclear accident is different and the impact cannot be truly measured for years. The government does not always tell the truth. Many will never return to their homes. Their lives will be divided into two parts: before and after Fukushima. They'll worry about their health and their children's health. The government will probably say there was not that much radiation and that it didn't harm them. And the government will probably not compensate them for all that they've lost. What they lost can't be calculated.

Thank you Huffpost for publishing this rarely reported first hand account. Nuclear reactors, waste, and bombs may be the single most dangerous threat in the world, but the one we're most anxious to put to bed. I especially like that this shows how cancer may not be the only result. How people can still say that it's clean and safe just b/c there's no carbon baffles me. No one will insure it, so how safe can it be.

If I were on Japanese soil right now, I'd take her advice after reading about what she has gone through.

Why don't we get Ann Coulter in an interview with this woman? Since Ann thinks that radiation exposure is good for you.

Check it out, 60-70 km from the nuke site, radiation is at 9 uSv / hour. That would be 78885 uSv / year, or 78 mSv / year.

Limit for the regular population is 1 mSv / year. They would reach their annual limit in 111 hours, or about 4.5 days.

"This whole thing has me wanting to go buy a geiger counter since we are getting radiation here now."

A geiger counter does not help. Buy lead blankets instead.

Lead blankets are no use against the real threats, which are inhaling and ingesting isotopes.
