Kenneth Cole's Twitter Filtered Since Egypt Gaffe

It sounds like Kenneth Cole had the keys to his Twitter account taken away from him after his microblogging gaffe last month.

Amid the uprising in Egypt, the designer posted, "Millions are in uproar in #Cairo. Rumor is they heard our new spring collection is now available online at http://bit.ly/KCairo -KC." He later apologized on Facebook for his insensitivity, writing, "I've dedicated my life to raising awareness about serious social issues, and in hindsight my attempt at humor regarding a nation liberating themselves against oppression was poorly timed and absolutely inappropriate."

Since then, his Twitter has become decidedly more put-together. He confessed to Glamour.com on Monday night, "I have a tendency to put my foot in my mouth. Now, my tweets go through a filter!"

But his enthusiasm for the newfangled medium hasn't waned in spite of the crackdown. Cole added, "Advertising only happens a few times a year, the ads and the billboards, but Twitter happens all the time."
