The Daily Caller, the conservative website run by Tucker Carlson, announced Tuesday that Virginia "Ginni" Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is joining the site as a "special correspondent."
In a statement, the Caller said that Thomas will "interview key political and community leaders -- from high-profile politicians to grassroots activists -- with a focus on listening to those outside the Beltway."
Thomas said she was excited to join "a capable, fun-loving team who are filling a niche that the dinosaur media has underserved.”
Thomas has long been a lightning rod due to her active involvement in the Tea Party movement, and for calling Anita Hill to ask her to apologize for the sex scandal surrounding her husband. In late February, Clarence Thomas defended her in a speech. She was also the partial subject of a shouting match between Rep. Anthony Weiner and Fox News' Megyn Kelly.
