"All male writers, incidentally, no matter how broke or otherwise objectionable, have pretty wives. Somebody should look into this."

If you think Sylvia Plath was "hot" you are using a defective themometer

You're surely kidding about Terry McMillan and that guy, right? I mean...you do know the story about that, don;t you.
I ended badly, but Philip Roth and Claire Bloom belong here

Henry Miller and his wife June, and girlfriend Anais Nin.

June was a beautiful but tortured alcoholic that he was madly in love with, and Anais was an intellectually beautiful writer of erotic prose.

Author with hottest wife: you've done well; Miller and Marilyn certainly top the list. But my hottest couple will always be Louis Lamour and Julie Newmar! Where are they?

I'll never understand what Norris Church was doing with Norman Mailer, for any reason.

Then you should read my book, Mornings with Mailer. Norris was like my sister. Norman was my best friend. We had a 40 year difference. There was so much love between them that it was palpable when you walked into the room. Don't believe the messy stuff you read about him; he was a gentleman, a tough guy, a father, a loving man and a writer. In short, he was complicated. Here's the kicker; she was more complicated that he was.

COOL! I WILL read it! She always seemed wonderful and am not surprised to hear she was the complicated one; he didn't seem very complex to me at all. I wasn't a fan although I did love "Ancient Evenings" (I think that was the name). Thanks for the insight.
