Doyer Dogs At The Dodger Stadium

'Doyer Dogs' Debut At The Dodger Stadium

Dodger fans attending tonight's exhibition game against Anaheim Angels are going to be among the first Angelenos to try the city's newest snack: the "Doyer Dog."

Named for the Spanish-language pronunciation of the Dodgers ("Los Doyers"), the beef frank is loaded up with nacho cheese, jalapeños, chopped tomatos and onions. CBS/KCAL 9 reports that the Doyer Dog weighs twice as much as the classic Dodger Dog and that they'll be available at Camacho stands throughout the stadium.

The Doyer Dog doesn't seem to be anything more than the classic one with spicy, cheesy condiments piled on top, but it could be considered just another step in the Dodger Dog evolution. Same thing goes for the Doyer Fries, loaded up the same toppings as the Doyer Dog.

NBC LA reports another change: Dodgertown Deli is replacing Canter's Delicatessen at the stadium, and that healthy snack carts will be offering "arugula salad with toasted walnuts, goat cheese, pomegranate seeds and balsamic vinaigrette dressing and a 'Farmer's Market' Greek salad." But who wants to go healthy at a ball game?
