The rumors were right this time: Jack Dorsey, a co-founder of Twitter, is returning to Twitter.
He tweeted the news himself: "Today I'm thrilled to get back to work at @Twitter leading product as Executive Chairman. And yes: leading @Square forevermore as CEO. #200%"
The position is not, as originally speculated, chief product manager, but Dorsey's role still focuses on product. Dorsey was originally CEO until 2008, when co-founder Evan Williams took over and Dorsey became chairman. Williams then stepped down in October, and was replaced by Dick Costolo.

Dorsey will retain his job as CEO at mobile payments startup Square.
