Jourdan Dunn Opens Up About Son's Illness, Being A Single Mother

Jourdan Dunn covers i-D magazine's "Exhibitionist Issue" along with B.F.F. Karlie Kloss, and inside, the 20-year-old model talks about the tough year she had and learning not to fear being a single mother (she presumably split from her boyfriend who was arrested for cocaine possession two Februarys ago).

Some excerpts from the interview:

What's the best thing about motherhood?

J: The unconditional love for you child, it's truly amazing. I will always put Riley before anything else because I'm a mother first, everything else comes after.

What's the hardest?

J: Riley has Sickle Cell disease, so the hardest thing is not knowing if RIley is just miserable or if he's in pain and having a crisis. Last December he has his first crisis and he was submitted to hospital for a blood transfusion. It was the scariest thing. All I wanted to do was take the pain away... I felt helpless as a mother. But now we have experienced his first crisis we are more prepared and know what to look out for. I am hoping to be able to lend my support to a Sickle Cell charity in the near future, as I want to try and help raise money and awareness about this disease.
