Disenfranchised citizens across the Arab world are continuing to take to the streets as part of protests inspired by demonstrations that successfully ousted leaders in Tunisia and Egypt.

In Libya, rebel forces fought their way to the doorstep of Moammar Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte, the Guardian reports. In Syria, security forces fired tear gas on thousands of protesters in a restive southern city, while pro- and anti-government demonstrators clashed.

Here's a look at the latest developments in political unrest across the Middle East on Monday. Captions are courtesy of the Associated Press:

Because S.A. sent in troops-- isn't repression what this is about?
I know second largest shareholder of FOX is S.A., but has the change in ownership impacted this site?

Also interesting is the video produced by Iran about Islamic messiah. See the article, "Iran Video Says Mahdi is Near." http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2011/March/Iranian-Regime-Video-Says-Mahdi-is-Near-/

While this might be chalked up to false end-times predictions, the disturbing thing is that Ahmadenijad apparently thinks it's his job to instigate a war against Israel and / or the US to usher in the Mahdi. The great harm or utter destruction such a war would cause to Iran isn't an obstacle to the Iranian clerics or Ahmadenijad.

What could possibly be the reason there are no comments on here regarding the video footage of Syrian's armed guards shooting at unarmed Syrian civilians?
