Carla Bruni Speaks In Woody Allen's 'Midnight In Paris' Trailer (VIDEO)

Fire up "La Marseillaise"!

Carla Bruni is set to make her silver screen debut in Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris," and the trailer just dropped. Carla makes a short cameo in the teaser, standing outside at the Rodin Museum, saying, "Rose was the wife," whatever that means. But we hung on her every word.

Of course, Carla's role didn't come without the drama. A source told People.com during the shooting, "Carla and Woody got along incredibly well on the set. They talked constantly and laughed quite a lot between takes. Owen as well....[However,] they must have shot the same set up, where she walks along holding a baguette in her hand going into a supermarket around 32 times." And another remarked to the Daily Mail, "She seemed to be struggling to avoid looking directly into the camera, which didn't impress Woody. The baguette scene could not have been simpler, but she wanted to make it a big one. That's why she had to keep shooting it over and over again."

But all's well that end's well! The movie will open the Cannes Film Festival in May.

I guess Woody couldn't land Michelle Obama or Donald Trump to star? Looks like one to miss.

I can't understand why any successful, self respecting public person would stoop to associate themselves with Woody Allen. He is, in essence, married to his step daughter and he doesn't even have the moral turpitude to be cognisant that his actions are offensive to the society in which he lives.

I understand that. The point for me is that, Allen Stewart Konigsberg (or Woody Allen) was a father figure to Soon-Yi Previn when he was the "significant other" of Mia Farrow. While no biological incest took place, Allen's relationship with Soon-Yi meets the criteria for psychological incest for me. In addition, when they married, he was fifty-six and she was twenty-two. There is clearly a power differential there that I, among others, find unhealthy and self-indulgent on the part of Allen.

The biological son of Farrow and Allen, Ronan Seamus Farrow, has this to say about the matter:
"He's my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law. That is such a moral transgression. I cannot see him. I cannot have a relationship with my father and be morally consistent... I lived with all these adopted children, so they are my family. To say Soon-Yi was not my sister is an insult to all adopted children."

I always love when HP thinks the "giant red arrow" is required. Unless you've spent the last couple of years under a rock, I venture to say you could pick out Carla Bruni from a crowd.

Whew! Thank goodness for that big red arrow huh? Think of all the confusion that photo may have caused if it wasn't for that red arrow.
