Lady Gaga Concert Brings Life, Wild Costumes To The Staples Center

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 03/29/11 02:36 PM ET   Updated: 05/29/11 06:12 AM ET

Lady Gaga celebrated her 25th birthday at the Staples Center last night with thousands of her closest friends. The jam-packed stadium sang "Happy Birthday" (VIDEO) to her as her crew brought out a cake. The LA Times notes there was "no word on who the cake designer was (no doubt the most celebrated, innovative one in the world), but if the number of candles atop it is any indication, the woman born Stephanie Germanotta turned 6 Monday night."

Gaga's costume changes were characteristically jaw-dropping, ranging from a body suit and knee-high boots to a revealing nun-inspired costume. Check out photos of the lively and bold performance Lady Gaga brought to the Staples Center.

She's got it all, especially the outward manifestation of weakness of character. If she was strong and had real messages, rather than those excellently choreographed pieces of simpering vacuity, they wouldn't let her get famous. She got famous because she's got just what the 'system' wants. The system of a downward decay.

When I listen to music, I prefer something that will give strength through 'real' truth that matters.

I'm old so I don't count, but does anyone find it interesting that one of the biggest female pop stars is actually quite homely? Are all the outfits and gimmicks at least partially about compensating for that? Would she be doing all this stuff if she was beautiful naturally? Would she be as big of a star if she wasn't doing all the gimmicks and was just her plain self? These are the questions an old geezer asks.

Here's is the thing that I don't understand .. she's actually attractive. But she's dresses and applies her makeup to make herself look ugly. It's a mystery to me.

You can't judge a book by its cover, or its name.

I'm old, and my opinion does count. I am a fan of Lady Gaga, and while I agree that she is not attractive, I do find her style fascinating. The most important thing that is overlooked by people however, is her talent. She has an incredible vocal range and has obviously been well trained. So while she is not attractive, her popularity is well deserved.
