Donald Trump: Obama Birth Certificate Could Say He's 'Muslim' (VIDEO)

Donald Trump Obama Birth Certificate

First Posted: 03/31/11 12:33 PM ET Updated: 05/31/11 06:12 AM ET

During an appearance on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News on Wednesday night, Donald Trump suggested that President Barack Obama's birth certificate could indicate that "he's a Muslim."

The billionaire real estate mogul and potential presidential candidate made the indication in raising skepticism over whether Obama is a citizen of the United States. It was only the latest instance in recent weeks that Trump has sounded off on the debunked conspiracy theory issue.

"He may have one, but there is something on that birth certificate," he explained, suggesting the document could highlight something the president doesn't want voters to see. "Maybe religion. Maybe it says he's a Muslim. I don't know. Maybe he doesn't want that. Or he may not have one. I will tell you this: if he wasn't born in this country, it's one of the great scams of all time."

Trump released his own official birth certificate to ABC News earlier this week and called on Obama to do the same. The president's birth records, however, have been accessible online for more than three years.

Meanwhile, Karl Rove signaled a sense of discontent that Trump continues to discuss the issue. Business Insider relays what Rove had to say about the matter on "The O'Reilly Factor" following Trump's appearance:

"You know, the troubling thing in the interview tonight was he said as time has gone on here, over the last couple of weeks, he has become more interested and more believing in the issue. You know, when he first brought it up, he said 'of course I accept that he's a citizen. He ought to just release the, release his birth certificate.' Different tone tonight. This is a mistake. It will marginalize him and he's falling into Barack Obama's trap. Barack Obama wants Republicans to fall into this trap because he knows it discredits us with the vast majority of the American people when they do."

During an appearance on MSNBC's "The Daily Rundown" on Thursday morning, Trump said, "I am embracing the issue, and I'm proud of the issue. I think somebody has to embrace it."

Trump has repeatedly insisted that his talk of exploring a run for president in 2012 is not an attempt to garner publicity for his reality television show. He recently said he's looking at mounting a campaign "fairly seriously."

I have heard on good authority that Donald Trump's business ethics and family values are missing, too. Unfortunately, his ego and colossal sense of self importance are not. Stupid is as stupid does.

So, he has " Investigators" in Hawai'i.
What does he hopes to accomplish?
The State of Hawaii can't release someones BC without the persons consent .
Hospitals can not release patients files......HIPAA PRIVACY RULE.

Hey Investigators.....you just screwed Trump...well done...have a nice vacation.

As it appears that the world news daily crowd is being shipped in by the busloads around here, just a thought...why did McCain lie about having been born in a hospital that wasn't built until 3 years after he was born? Why was a special senate hearing held to determine McCain's eligibility but not Obama's? Did that concern you in the least?
Would a measley 2 million bucks really have stopped the Clintons from getting the goods? The CIA? How is it that in all this time not a single thing of any verifiable substance indicating anything other than that he was born where the birth certificate he provided (and the newspaper announcements, etc) indicate? I'm sure you'll find the St Petersburg Times frightfully leftist but their groovy politifact feature has some info you might find interesting.

2 million dollars? Is that really all it takes to run a scam like this?

I would have liked to read everyones take on this. BUT seriously the trolls today are out of control. This topic bring out the frigggen wackos.
I figure I'll never watch anything Trump again. Why continue to support his antics. He's not running.
forget the BC, SHOW ME THE TAX RETURN TRUMP if your running. Otherwise this is a publicity stunt which as far as I'm concerned will backfire !!!!!!!!!!

I wonder, does Donald Trump really think that going after President Obama will endear himself to the viewers. Sure, he's doing all of this for his show's ratings, but once all these new Tea Party folk watch once, they'll eventually go back to the brainwashing of Fox News.

And also, despite what the Donald says, one of these Certification of Live Births is not easy to obtain and you cannot get one that says you were born in Hawaii if you were born in any other state or country.

OMG ... if that is what it says, then who cares? It won't mean anything. All it would mean is that when he was born 50 years ago that his parents put his religion down as muslim. It doesn't mean that he is today and I don't believe that he is. He has said that he is a Christian and I have no reason not to believe that. The only thing that matters is that he was born in this country (the only requirement for being a natural born citizen which you must be to be elected President) and we know that he was (although The Donald and the Birthers seem to have a difficult time understanding that fact which to me means that they are complete and total incompetents), because the (former) Director of Health Services of the State of Hawaii said that at the direction of the former governor who was a REPUBLICAN AND WHO VOTED FOR MCCAIN she was asked to verify the authenticity of the long-form birth certificate in their files, which she did. It is also critical to note that the Certification of Live Birth that the President was given and which he posted online in '08 is what ALL Hawaiian residents born in the state are given when they request their birth certificate and it is valid and accepted by Hawaiian Officials as well as the State Department and is satisfactory enough to obtain a Driver's License, Passport, etc ...

"All it would mean is that when he was born 50 years ago that his parents put his religion down as muslim."

Actually, it doesn't seem likely that *any* birth certificate, anywhere, would list a newborn's religion, since newborns don't *have* any religion. I can imagine that in some circumstances one or another kind of certificate, possibly a religious one rather than a state-issued one, *might* list the parents' religions, but even that's a stretch.

"Who puts birth announcements in the newspaper?" We do dummy! I live in Hawai'i and ALL the island newspapers publish birth announcements at least twice a week. In Hawai'i, we take the birth of a child very seriously because of our culture.

Why the race card from the blacks? Everytime. Anyway, Donald brings up a good point. Why doesn't Obama just show his real birth cirtificate? Simple. Why play games? It only goes to show he is hiding something! It's funny. I was in "class" and we were taught by an instructor. You could have three witnesses. All three of them saw something different. Then the video told a fourth version. The truth. Same here. Everyone has their version of the birth certificate. Then there is the truth. The actual birth certificate. Let's see it. Not like Donald said something any of us could get with out a signature nor a doc number. That doesn't count! The actual birth certificate.

I agree very well said.

Who Spends 2 MILLION DOLLARS to keep an issue like this out of the courts? Let me ask you.......IF your neighbor was accused of some kind of fraud, they took a job at a certain company that required them to prove these things and was asked to see their PUBLIC records. And they were to use 2 Million Dollars to keep it out of court...... do not tell me that you would not have serious doubts as to WHY they would do such a thing. And wonder what are they hiding.

Not only that this article is pretty pathetic. It nowhere Shows how or Documents where this Documentation can be found that proves Barack " BARRY SOETORO" Obama can be found. THIS so called Debunking of this issue..... as this Reporter ASSERTS over and over again is just what it is MERE ASSERTION.To MERELY ASSERT SOMETHING PROVES NOTHING. There is plenty of evidence to the contrary that Shows this Man Barack was not born in Hawaii. Here are many articles where the reporters have actually done there homework and shown that something is terribly Wrong. And Barack is hiding something. See this if you are really interested in looking for the truth on this issue.

What he showed is his real birth certificate. It is accepted by Hawaiian officials and the State Department as perfectly legal and can be used to obtain a Driver's License, Passport, etc ... If you are talking about the long-form it shouldn't make a difference whether he shows it or not, because he already showed the short-form which is equally as good and because the Health Department confirmed the presence of the long-form (which they do not release to the public anymore) in their records.

What I saw was a "live birth" not a birth certificate. Right, the state accepts it. Even if he showed it to be a senator, it would pass. Not as a President. See, to be a Senator you only have to live here for 9yrs NOT be born here like a President. Remember, it's easier to get a live birth than a birth certificate. Even a passport requires a BC not a LB!

Well...No donald...it might say his father's religious choice was muslim (his Mom was a good old American Christian just like you donald), just as it might say yours was christian if your father was....(yours is likely just printed in GOLD LEAF as you were BORN RICH and PRIVILEGED). But, you see donald....in AMERICA we can be born poor and become rich, we can be born of intelligent, educated parents and still come out stupid......and our parents can be athiests and we can be whatever we want....... By the way donald...I see other billionaires giving generously to charity....but I see nothing about you doing the same.....are you just a greedybastard or what?

The type of Information such as Religion is simply not on a Birth Certificate. Donald Trump is either not intelligent or just making things up.

This guy ( Trump) is poised to make MIllions, Millions in corporate donor contributions just for entering the Presidential race.. This is a joke and a mockery of our political system. Meanwhile, according to the latest Xavier University poll released this morning; only 27% of African - Americans believe that they can confidently achieve the American dream. And Trump wants to make sure our President isnt Muslim? I cant wait until 2012..
